Our Gubbio “The city of Stone”
We are in the northeastern area of the region Umbria, close to the border qith the region Marche (east).
It is an area full of natural and artistic beauties where history, culture and beautiful landscapes form a harmoniuos symbiotic system. Beside beautiful medieval old towns, in this area you can also enjoy uncontaminated natural environments and artistic handicrafts which testify a great mastery.
The city, whose ancient name was “Ikuvium”, arose at the foot of the Mount Ingino and its origin date back to the Umbrian civilization, as documented by the “Tavole Eugubine” kept in the Palace of Consuls (Palazzo dei Consoli).
Gubbio is a beautiful medieval town. The typical Umbrian town that union history, folklore and natural beauties. Whoever visits this town is astonished by the hospitality of its habitants and the goodness of its gastronomic specialties.
We reccomend you to come in spring, possibly in May, because in that month the city is animated by the Festa dei Ceri (a celebration in honor of the patron saint of Gubbio). Some people call Gubbio “the city of stone”, infact the medieval views you can enjoy by walking through the characteristic alleys are amazing, and you can also enjoy a lot of craft shops that testify the tradition of ceramic processing, “bucchero” and wrought iron.
The city give the tourist the possibility to enjoy a beautiful ambience, to live the city life and to relax enjoying the tranquility of nature.
